GM Abhimanyu Puranik (2520) is a very strong Grandmaster from Pune, Maharashtra. He has had a plethora of accolades in his young career. He won Bronze in World Youth Under-10 in 2010, Marianske Lazne Open 2013, Riga Technical University Rapid Open 2021, Asian University Men’s Championship 2021, Runner-up in the recently concluded Fagernes GM Autumn 2022, plenty of State and District championships apart from multitude of podium finishes in various formats of the game. When he says chess should be celebrated more, gaming conventions and festivals are good place to do so, you can certainly get an idea that the century old sport need a modern day thought process which these youngsters posess to increase the reach to various masses around the world.
