Ethan Vaz (Elo:1772), born in 2011, took the city of Mandya by storm in the first 8 rounds of the MPL under-12 national championships 2022 when he scored 8.0/8. In the 9th and 10th rounds he slumped to two defeats but came back powerfully in the final round to win bronze medal at the championship.
It goes without saying that the boy is extremely talented and we are going to hear a lot about him in the days to come. At the tournament premises, ChessBase India’s Saishyam Srikanth got in touch with Edwin Vaz, Ethan’s father, and they spoke about Ethan’s journey until now, his experience in Mandya and their future plan.
