Vidit Gujrathi started off the second leg of the FIDE Grand Prix 2022 in Belgrade with two wins. It seemed like he had great chances to reach the semi-finals. However, a loss to Rapport on day three slowed him down. But it still gave him enough possibilities because the score of both Rapport and Vidit was still the same 2.5/4. In the 5th round they both clash against each other. Vidit opened the game with 1.e4 and Rapport responded with the French Defence. In a complex middlegame, Vidit got the upperhand, but then missed a brilliant resource. IM Sagar Shah talks about it in this video.
