Vaishali scores her final GM norm at Qatar Masters 2023. Now 32 Elo points away from becoming a GM

Vaishali has achieved something truly special. She scores her final GM norm at the Qatar Masters 2023. She achieved it with one round to spare and is now a GM elect. She is now just 32 Elo points away from becoming the next GM of India. It has been a long wait for our country to get a female player to become a GM. The first one was Humpy in 2002 and then Harika in 2011. It has now been 12 years! We hope that Vaishali will soon achieve her rating requirement of reaching 2500 and reach the GM title.
