M Vaishali R. is speedrunning towards the Grandmaster title. After a beautiful win in the 3rd round of FIDE Grand Swiss, today she took down the former Women’s World Champion Mariya Muzychuk (UKR)!
Vaishali played a phenomenal game with the Black pieces, forcing her opponent to resign in just 23 moves – a proper miniature! She now has 3.5/4 points and is around 20 elo points away from becoming India’s latest Grandmaster.
