The world’s top chess players battle it out at the WR Chess Masters Cup! In an iconic five-star location, 16 of the brightest stars of our sport will gather to compete for the title in an innovative format. The tournament will be played as a knockout, two games a day with the fastest possible classical time control, a format that has never been seen before.
It is a 16 players Knock-Out Tournament, all rounds shall be played with 2-game matches, and in case of tiebreaks the rapid bidding Armageddon shall be played. The time control for each game is 60 min for the first 30 moves, 30 min for the next 20 moves and 30 min for the rest of the game.
