Lokeshwar Moogi Rao was a chess fanatic in his younger days. Although he loved chess, he could never really achieve his goals of becoming a strong player. But with the passion and energy that he had, he decided to train his daughter Sahithi Varshini. Sahithi moved up the ladder quickly and is currently one of the most promising youngsters in the country. But all of this has not come easy. It has come at the cost big sacrifices. Lokesh took a huge loan (close to Rs.15 lakh) and left home for a year to support his daughter’s chess career. Check out this interview with Lokesh at the Chess Olympiad 2022.
