A lot of people ask what is the secret to India creating so many young talents? This video shows you a major reason!
At the Dubai Expo 2020, Team India was up against Peru in the finals of the World Schools Championship. Team Velammal Nexus was the favourite with likes of Praggnanandhaa, Gukesh, Leon, Pranav in the team. However, the match was very close and in the end the school from India won with a very close margin of 3-2.
They could have celebrated their victory, after all they had become the World School Champions. However, the boys were more interested in the rook endgame that ensued in the game between Praggnanandhaa and his opponent Bravo Mallco Kate Azumi. It was also not that Pragg’s opponent was a GM. She was rated just 1913. However, what is important to note is that the position was exciting and it had caught the fancy of Gukesh, Leon, Pragg and other youngsters. They also analyzed it with Vishy Anand.
We have shot this video while we were walking from the South hall where the tournament was held to the Spanish Pavilion where the closing ceremony was going to take place.
