Dibyendu Barua is a big name in the Indian chess circles! He was one of the best in Indian chess and became the second GM after Viswanathan Anand. While being a strong player in 1988, he played a simultaneous exhibition against a talented 14-year-old girl. He offered a draw, she rejected it and went on to beat Barua. That’s how Dibyendu Barua and Saheli Dhar met. This is a wonderful story of two people who have revolutionized chess in West Bengal and India with their hard work and efforts.
