The 1st Maharashtra International Open Grandmaster Chess Tournament 2022 kicks off today at the Weightlifting Hall, Balewadi Sports Complex, Baner Mahalunge Road, Pune. The tournament will be held from May 31 to June 8. Contestants from about 13 countries and over 20 Indian states are participating in the tournament. From the entry to the inauguration, it seemed like a festival and the mood of the hall lit up by leaps and bounds.
