On the 10th of August, the city of Hyderabad witnessed an unique event. The location was The Shri Ram Academy International School in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. The day started with a chess puzzle competition where participants had to solve five problems within just thirty minutes. After the puzzle competition, the players geared up for a nine- round intense blitz tournament. 213 players registered for the event and once the fight over the board was over it was time for us to start our main event of the day – felicitation ceremony of chess achievers from Telangana. The idea was to felicitate not only the stars of the city Arjun and Harika but also the youngsters who have performed exceptionally at the National and International Stages. We also invited renowned coaches, organizers, journalists and visionaries who have helped the sport to grow in this part of the country.
