My student, Patrick (estimated ELO: 1700-1800), challenged me to a pair of 25+5 games. We both recorded commentary (Patrick’s version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2fHKCZKigI). In the first game, a Meran Semi-Slav leads to a slightly more comfortable position for Black after Patrick errs with 11.Bg5. Later, I face a critical decision whether to play for restriction and full-board domination, or win a pawn and try to grind out a win with opposite-color bishops.
