Srinath Narayanan was the lone GM fighting at the 2nd anniversary tournament of the ChessBase India Chess Club. However, it was not going to be a straightforward event for the grandmaster as he had to compete against 4 IMs and 4 FMs at the event. The GM from Tamil Nadu did so admirably and scored 8.5/9 to win the title. Vidhi Karelia interviews Srinath after the event. Srinath also speaks about the significance of having such free and open chess clubs for the growth of chess.
