GM Sahaj Grover had taken a break from professional chess and was into full-time coaching. He assisted the South African team as their captain in the Olympiads. After the Olympiads, Sahaj thought of returning to play over the board and thus after Abu Dhabi, he was playing at the Dubai Open 2022. In round six he was up against the youngster Raunak Sadhwani.
