Srihari LR, born in 2005, is a young Indian talent. He played a phenomenal tournament at the Qatar Masters 2023 scoring 5.5/9, with a rating performance of 2627. But it all began with the first round encounter with Magnus Carlsen where the youngster just lost in 23 moves. But instead of taking it as a negative experience, Srihari got motivated by it and then went on to beat GM Emre Can and also succeeded in the must win last round game against GM Sandipan Chanda to score his 2nd GM norm. Srihari is next going to Hungary to play in three GM norm events and with around 40 Elo points and 1 GM norm to get, he might very soon become India’s next GM.
