There are only 100+ Category A level International Arbiter. We met one of the – IA IO FI Gerhard Bertagnolli (ITA). He was the Deputy Chief Arbiter at Sardinia World Chess Festival 2024 and also at FIDE World Championship Match 2023. He talks about how being an arbiter is a hobby, it is not his full-time job, how he enjoys taking photographs instead of taking a smoke/coffee break during his work and a lot more.
