Wesley So became the 1st ever Chess.com Global Chess Championship winner taking home the prize fund of US$200,000 (Rs.1 crore 64 lakh). Nihal Sarin finished 2nd winning US$100,000 (Rs.82 lakh). After the event ended we caught up with Wesley So and asked him about his performance, how it felt to play at the Global Championships and much more.
Wesley also speaks about his opponent in the finals, the 18-year-old Nihal Sarin and how the boy has a very bright future ahead of him. We will also be seeing the US GM come to India next for the Tata Steel Chess India 2022 and we are very excited to have him.
