“My least expectation is to score an IM norm” – Mayank Chakraborty beats GM M.R. Venkatesh

One of the biggest talents of North East India chess Mayank Chakraborty beat M.R. Venkatesh to move to 3.5/6 at the Qatar Masters 2023. The youngster from Guwahati, Assam already has 2 IM norms and one GM norm and is now coming close to achieving his final IM norm and also hitting 2400 Elo. Mayank has already beaten 2 GMs at the Qatar Masters – Akshat Chandra and M.R. Venkatesh. We speak to him after his 6th round win over Venkatesh.
