Soumya Swaminathan is part of the B-team for India at the Chess Olympiad 2022. She speaks about her team which consists of Vantika Agrawal, Mary Ann Gomes, Padmini Rout and Divya Deshmukh. The coach of the team is GM Swapnil Dhopade. For Soumya, the team has two players with whom she has played so many tournaments together – Padmini and Mary and two players who are almost half her age – Vantika and Divya. Soumya is thrilled to be a part of the squad and is excited that her father and husband will both travel to Chennai to watch her in action LIVE.
