MPL Indian Chess Tour 2022 is an elite chess tournament featuring 16 Grandmasters from India who will be competing throughout the year for a prize pool of $100,000 and a chance to be at the $1.6 million Meltwater Champions Chess Tour.
Starting March 31, four tournaments will be held taking the players through to the overall Final between November 4 and 7. Each event will feature 16 top-ranked Indian Grandmasters. Each tournament will be a round-robin (all-play-all) event, played over 4 days. Players earn 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw (each), and 0 points for a loss. Tiebreaks if points are tied. The Final will be a knockout to determine the 2022 MPL Indian Chess Champion.
