Georgia holds a special place in the history of women’s chess, having produced some of the most legendary female players in the world.Batumi, known for its beautiful Black Sea coastline, is a fitting venue for this major tournament, which will gather the world’s top female chess players in a battle for glory.
What an incredible tournament has it been – and we have an All-Indian final on our hands! It is going to be IM Divya Deshmukh versus GM Koneru Humpy, a battle between youth and experience. Game 1 ended in an exciting draw, and also Game 2 had a similar result. It’s now time for tiebreaks:
– 2 games of 15+10, in case of 1-1 tie
– 2 games of 10+10, in case of 1-1 tie
– 2 games of 5+3, in case of 1-1 tie
– 1 games of 3+2 and in case of a draw, another game of 3+2 until a winner is found.
