The FIDE Candidates Tournament 2022 takes place from the 17th of June to the 5th of July in Madrid, Spain, deciding the challenger of World Champion Magnus Carlsen in the FIDE World Chess Championship 2023.
The tournament is played as a double Round-robin with 14 rounds.

Time control is 120 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 60 minutes for the next 20 moves and then 15 minutes for the rest of the game with an increment of 30 seconds per move, starting from move 61.
Players cannot draw by agreement before black ́s 40th move.
In the case of a tie for first place after 14 rounds, a playoff is played.

The total prize fund is 500.000$.

@ginger_gm @chessable @richardpalliser Good stuff, guys! I had a look at these lines back in 2019 for my Sicilian course as Black. I was surprised to find that this is much better than you might think at first. Leads to good fighting positions and certainly will surprise people!

This 1 e4 c5 2 Be2 is a very interesting idea, aiming for an ideal Dutch.
It's a nice 'system' opening, meaning knowing the basic plans is the key.
