The Shaastra IIT Madras Rapid Rating Open tournaments are organized by the students of the institution. Akash Lal is one of the organizers of the fifth edition of the critically acclaimed tournament which was held on 11th and 12th March 2023. He talks about organizing the tournament, the significance of it, how much he loves ChessBase India, him being in the same rating category as Gukesh, Vaishali and others at one point, following Sagar’s blogs before the inception of ChessBase India and a lot more.
