Atharva Bakhare doesn’t believe that people who have surpassed a certain age cannot pursue a career in chess. And these are not just words for Atharva, he is actually practicing what he preaches. The youngster finished his bachelors in statistics in 2020. Since then he is full-time into chess. With a rating of 1242, Atharva has a long road ahead towards the GM title, but he is taking it one step at a time. And at the 3rd Gujarat GM international 2022 he managed to beat his 2100 rated opponent Sudarshan Bhat in the first round. Check out the interview as well as the game.
