Vishy Anand has been India no.1 for over 3 decades now. He is the primary reason for why chess is booming in India. He has been 5 times World Champion and he is still actively playing at the age of 53. Vishy has already done a lot for Indian chess.
However, Vishy is in no mood to stop. After forming the WestBridge Anand Chess Academy (WACA) to help the best young talents of the country by unlocking their true potential, he has now launched Group e4. Group e4 is an initiative by Vishy and Aruna Anand along with Satya Prabhakar (CEO of Sulekha) to help talented youngsters who are yet to achieve something big in the world of chess but are moving towards that goal.
Until now they have already disbursed Rs.38 lakh. And the beauty about this project is that the funds are collected through a whatsapp group! It’s a group created by Satya Prabhakar with some of his friends, now 140 of them, and they raise funds which are then used for the betterment of Indian chess players.
