He is one of the most efficient arbiters in Indian chess. Meet M.S. Gopakumar, who is the deputy chief arbiter of the Chess Olympiad 2022 that is being held in Chennai. Gopakumar began his career as a volunteer in 2003 and now in 2022 he has reached one of the pinnacles of his chess career – deputy chief arbiter at a chess olympiad. He is the first ever Indian arbiter to have achieved this feat! In this interview we get to know what does it entail to hold a position of such great responsibility.
