David Llada started off his chess career as a journalist in his 20s. He then quit chess for some time and came back as a photographer. He became one of the best photographers in the world. Three years ago, he decided to switch roles once again and this time work with FIDE as the chief of marketing and communications in the organization.
With FIDE changing in nature, a lot of things needed to be different. David speaks about how the culture in FIDE is changing, how hard he and the entire team had to work to make the World Championship 2021 in Dubai Expo 2020 possible. We also ask David about his photography projects and whether the next version of his famous book “The Thinkers”‘ is coming out.
