Can you imagine how crazy it would be if you scrambled up the chess pieces every time you started a new game? Well, that’s what happens when you play Chess960!
In this type of chess, pieces begin in a different and almost random position every time you start a new game. Because of this, it’s practically impossible to study opening theory—which means that this is an excellent game if you don’t like memorizing opening moves.
But before you start placing pieces on totally random squares to play a Chess960 game, you need to be aware of some rules: First of all, you must place the black and white pieces in a mirrored position. Second of all, the two bishops of each player must be on opposite-color squares. Finally, the king must always be between the two rooks.
In this video, FunMasterMike will tell you everything you need to know about this chess variant.
