Jerry Nash is a unique personality in the world of chess. He believes that chess can have a very positive impact on the world if it is initiated in the right way through education. And this doesn’t have to be in just schools. It can be in universities, colleges and different organizations. While this might seem really good to hear, Jerry has actually made it possible by immense efforts over the last 4 decades. He is a pioneer in this field and that is the reason why he is the Chairman of Chess in Education for FIDE. He was in India as a part of understanding the country better and suggesting ways in which chess in education could work here. We caught up with him at the Maharashtra Chess Festival 2023 and had a detailed conversation with him.
