On April 29, 2017, I organized a meetup with channel viewers in Boston, MA. Roughly 50 people showed up! We played blitz and chatted in Harvard Square for 4+ hours and enjoyed a sunny afternoon in the historic city. It was a great pleasure meet so many long-term channel viewers as well as many new chess enthusiasts. Thanks for coming out, Boston – I’ll be back!
This is a casual 3-minute blitz game vs. Nikolas Theiss, aka “Atrophied.” Nikolas is a USCF expert, chess coach, and fellow YouTuber. He drove quite a ways to make the meetup, and it was fantastic to meet him in-person. Check out Nikolas’s channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCsjRN9g1AYODJZOPVJKzUmw
Sincere thanks to Chinmay Shukla for filming and providing this footage. Also, thanks to Jordan at Harvard for assisting with the logistics, and many others for providing advice about the chess scene in Boston.
