At age 20, Bobby Fischer won the 1963β64 US Championship with 11 wins in 11 games, the only perfect score in the history of the tournament. This game which is one of the most famous games in Fischer’s career, was played in round 3 against Robert Byrne.
This was Fischer’s first win against Byrne, and one of the most excellently played miniatures in all of chess history.
Fischer’s 21-move victory against Robert Byrne won the brilliancy prize for the tournament. Byrne wrote: The culminating combination is of such depth that, even at the very moment at which I resigned, both Grandmasters who were commenting on the play for the spectators in a separate room believed I had a won game!

I messed around with some AI stuff (trying to learn from our future overlords!) to make this video.
– First I recorded some audio of Bobby’s voice.
– I then run it through – https://play.ht/ – to make a clone of his voice. This was then used in the script.
– I used – https://leonardo.ai/ – to create the graphics of Bobby.
