Alexander Beliavsky won many of the finest attacking chess games of the 1980s, but his very finest victory was earned with the black pieces against GM Ilya Smirin. The aggressive Smirin pushed forward with the h-pawn, but “Harry” fails to faze Beliavsky who mobilizes his pieces for a central assault which quickly turns into an immortal king hunt.
