The winners of Death Match 1.0 and 2.0 took on each other in the finals of the Champions Chess Tour 2022 Round 5. Anish Giri is world no.7 and one of the best GMs in the world. Arjun is one of the best talents in India and is quickly becoming a world class player. Arjun struggled in the first three rounds of the Champions Chess Tour finals because of the games starting at 1.30 a.m. and ending at 5.30 a.m. IST. In round 4 he had already got into the rhythm and beat Mamedyarov with a score of 3-1. Arjun managed to beat Anish Giri in round 6 in just 3 games with a score of 2.5-0.5.
