Adjournments? Sealed moves? What are these weird things, anyway?
You may not know this, but chess games used to be much slower before you were born. A single chess game could go on for more than six hours. It’s almost like your whole day at school for only one game!
Because games were so long, players needed to take some time to rest before it was over. That’s when the idea of adjournments came into play.
The adjournment was like a break for chess players. At a certain point during their game, one of the players would make a sealed move. The rest of the game would be then postponed until the next day.
Don’t know what a sealed move is, or what players would do during this break? Then watch this video by FunMasterMike explaining everything you need to know about adjournments!
