Rudolf Charousek could have been a world champion. Sadly, he died of tuberculosis at the age of just 26. Before he did, he had already established himself as one of the best players in the world. This correspondence game began in 1893 in the 1st-ever Hungarian Correspondence Championship. When it started, Charousek was nigh unknown. When it ended, he was a star.
