Started playing chess seriously at 9, beat an IM at 10 years – Aaron Vazhakkottil

10-year-old Aaron Vazhakkottil (1085) learnt chess at the age of eight years. He joined an academy at nine years. A year later, at the age of ten years, he played his first Simultaneous Exhibition match against IM Rodney Oscar Perez Garcia (CUB, 2311) and he managed to beat him. He had played against an IM before at a FIDE rated Blitz Open tournament.
