Sacrificing pieces and solving chess studies| Samhita Pungavanam becomes National U-9 Girls Champion

Samhita Pungavanam (1345, TEL) scored a resounding 10/11 points in the National Under-9 Girls Chess Championships 2023 to become the Champion. In the final round, she defeated the tournament top seed Sharvaanica AS (1430, TN) with the White pieces! We had an interview with Samhita and her mom, where they talk about her games, performance in the tournament, Samhita’s chess journey and a whole lot more.
