Both GM Leinier Dominguez Perez (USA, 2739) and GM Alexey Sarana (SRB, 2685) were heading into their Round 5.1 match as undefeated at FIDE World Cup 2023. While Leinier played his only tie-breaks against Radoslaw Wojtaszek (POL) on the previous day, Sarana is yet to play one. Check out Leinier’s thoughts on his game where he played some outstanding chess to hand his opponent his first loss of the event. Now Sarana must win the second game to force tie-breaks.
