40 YEARS APPART! The Epic Battle of Generations! – Abhimanyu Mishra vs Boris Gelfand

The 2023 TePe Sigeman & Co Chess Tournament will be held from the 4th to the 10th of May in Malmo, Sweden. The strong field will feature Jorden van Foreest, Boris Gelfand and Peter Svidler , as well as stars from the emerging chess generation who will make their debut. The event will be included in the FIDE circuit, making it a qualification path to the 2024 Candidates Tournament.

The time control for the event is 90 minutes for 40 moves and then 30 minutes for the remaining moves with a 30-second cumulative increment for each move starting from the first move (Malmö rules-no draws before move 40).

(4/4) On another note I could do with some tips on how to get a good sleep. It seems like I am a fully fledged insomniac. 😵‍💫
I was in bed at 1am last night but didn't even manage to get 1 minutes sleep after tossing and turning all night. Been awake for about 40 hours now. 😱

(3/4) I missed one very likely obvious winning move.
Here I played Bg2? but I should just play Qh6!
For some reason I had missed ...Qxh6 Bxh6 ...Nxc3 a3! Which is game over.
In the end I lost 😔 after Johann played excellently.
