The Closed Italian is a very slow opening. Both the players often manoeuvre endlessly before making that key break in the center. What happens when one of the players decides that they don’t want to play so slowly and they want to be more direct! Well, check out this video in which youngster Mrittika Mallick, who is playing at the World Youth Championships 2022 in the under-14 girls section, had her opponent being extremely impatient. The way in which Mrittika punished the opening was very instructive. She is now in 3rd spot in the event with 5 rounds to go.
