9-year-old Sarbartho Mani had a wonderful appearance as the below 2000 Elo board for Team Freedom at the FIDE World Rapid and Blitz Team Championships 2025. He helped his team win a bronze medal in the rapid and scored heavily in the blitz. After the tournament ended we caught up with the little star from West Bengal, as he spoke about his journey of being on the same team as Vishy Anand, the immense work he did along with Emil Sutovsky as preparation for this event and more. We also interview Sarbartho’s parents – Siddhartho and Swarnali – both doctors, who were present at the venue.
