In this continuation of the “Climbing the Rating Ladder” series I take on players of various ratings levels while pointing out typical mistakes and spots for improvement along the way (possibly my own!? :)). Here I commentate a 10+0 game against a player rated 2307 on Chess.com. The once little-known Jobava London (1.d4 d5 2.Nc3 Nf6 3.Bf4) has risen to main-line status in recent years, and though many lines have been mapped out in great detail, there are still tricky sidelines that may need to be known by both players. Here, my 2300+ opponent catches me unprepared in the line 3…c5 4.dxc5 dxe5 5.dxc5, which I could not recall having faced. Time quickly becomes a major problem for me, especially when my opponent confidently uncorks 8.Nb5!.
