In 2008 GM R.B. Ramesh decided to stop his playing career in chess and quit his job at Indian Oil to begin a career in chess training! That’s how Chess Gurukul began. He was ably supported by his wife WGM Aarthie Ramaswamy in this endeavour.
On 1st of December 2023, the academy has completed 15 years! It has played a pivotal role in creating champions in the country like Pragg, Vaishali, Aravindh, Karthikeyan, Pranesh and many more. In this interview you get to know the journey of Ramesh and Aarthie and see how they nurtured the talents and their dream of creating a world class academy.
