Savitha Shri scored 8/11 to finish third at the World Rapid Championships 2022 and take home the bronze medal. From being the last placed player in Tata Steel Chess India Rapid 2022, that took place just 15 days ago, Savitha has improved massively and is now the bronze medal winner. En route to this victory she got the better of players like Stefanova, Khademalsharieh, Khotenashvili, Gong Qianyun.
And mind you, she is just 15 years old! She becomes the youngest player in the history of the sport to have won a world rapid and blitz medal. A huge congratulations to Savitha and her entire team for this phenomenal achievement.
