India’s no.3 woman player GM R. Vaishali had a very tough opponent at the FIDE World Cup 2025 in round no.5. She was up against Kazakh no.4 Meruert Kamalidenova. Although the Kazakh IM just has an Elo of 2323, she was giant slayer in this tournament as she got the better of Goryachkina and Shukhman. Check out this game that also stressed out Vaishali’s brother Praggnanandhaa early in the morning in USA. Commentary by IM Sagar Shah.
