It is well-known that getting into an IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) is extremely difficult. The preparation for IIT makes it difficult for anyone to do anything else at that time. However, once you get into an IIT, it is just like any other school or university, you get plenty of time to pursue your hobbies. Listen to the new National Amateur Below 2300 champion, Koustav Chakraborty. He played a category above his rating and won it. This is his second ever tournament triumph. That also was achieved while being an IIT Kharagpur student. IIT Kharagpur Chess Club has brought his interest back in chess few years ago. They continue to support me. Listen to the champion himself to get an idea about not only how the mind of a champion works on and off the board but also some practical vices.
