Manuel Aaron became the first IM of India in 1961. He has played in three Olympiads for the country in 1960, 62 and 64. He has also visited two more Olympiads – once as a trainer and one more time as a journalist. In the 1960 Olympiad in Leipzig, Aaron managed to play two World Champions in the first two rounds – Botvinnik and Euwe. He managed to beat Euwe and lost to Botvinnik. IM Sagar Shah asks Aaron about the Chess Olympiad coming to India, these games against the World Champions and also whether he follows the young Indian talents or not.
