Generally pawns are much stronger than a minor piece endgame. If the number of pawns become four to five against a bishop, it can be overwhelming. Sunyuktha C M N (1709) had Rook and four pawns for his opponent Aman Farid’s Rook and Bishop in the Olympiad Curtain Raiser Rapid Rating 2022. Soon the defender went wrong and dropped another pawn, whatever chances he had to draw, diminished. Find out how the defender could have defended the position in a better way. Also, find out what was the earlier chance White missed in the endgame.
In case anyone is wondering why clock is on White’s right hand side, the orientation of board and clocks were in the exact same order as for the Olympiad.
