Maitreyi Mondal was someone who was not into chess till 2019 but a very good Table-tennis player. It was difficult for her to travel for training so she found a new interest in chess and thus began playing the game and got support from her parents. Her parents were surprised to see her talent in chess and motivated her to pursue the game. She is currently playing at the 34th MPL National U-10 Open & Girls Chess championship and has won 5 games in a row.
